Second Shooting

Tomorrow I will be second shooting my first wedding! I am super excited to have this opportunity to shoot along side Dustin Francis who is an amazing photographer here in Michigan. Hopefully all will go well and this will be my first of many weddings…hey, every body’s gotta start somewhere, right? Wish me luck!
One year from 30

Yes, it is true, today I am 29 years old. Only 1 year from 30, and yes, I feel old. Anyway, for my birthday I decided to write 29 random things you might not know about me…
1. My favorite color is blue.
2. M&M’s are far and away the BEST candy EVER!
3. I want Spain to win the World Cup on Sunday.
4. I am addicted to Diet Coke.
5. My husband has given himself the nickname “Buddy America”. (I’ll explain that one sometime!)
6. My brother is engaged and getting married this year!
7. I am really liking that new show Memphis Beat.
8. I love the hot weather…and would always rather be hot than cold.
9. I hate sushi…and yes, I have tried it like a million times!
10. My favorite books are The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played with Fire. I haven’t read The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest yet.
11. One of my favorite restaurants in Ann Arbor is Grizzly Peak.
12. I would love to live in California one day…but won’t. It is just too far from my family and friends!
13. Every year my husband and I meet a bunch of friends in Austin, TX for Austin City Limits.
14. I am a Blackberry user.
15. I believe happy hour is the best time of any day.
16. I teach 2 workout classes at the gym…BodyPump and TurboKick. Nothing beats getting paid to workout!
17. I am a Mac.
18. My husband is the smartest person I know…he hates when I say that but in the words of Will Hunting…”My boy’s wicked smart!”
19. I am dying to see Toy Story 3.
20. I always see the as glass half full.
21. I didn’t know it would be so hard to write 29 things about myself.
22. I hate running but I do it anyway…twice a week.
23. Even though I am from Boston I have no trace of a Boston accent.
24. I absolutely love Cuban food, although it is a tight race for first with Mexican food.
25. I will never understand people who don’t like animals. That is just weird.
26. I think Miami is an awesome city full of culture, color, and living life to the fullest. You can’t beat that.
27. I always use oxford commas.
28. Jimmy Buffett music always puts me in a good mood.
29. I consider this the 8th anniversary of my 21st birthday.

The Groom’s Cake

Joe saw a picture of this cake online and loved it. He tried to convince me multiple times that it should be our actual wedding cake. Although I thought it was quite hilarious myself, I told him that it would not be our wedding cake. So, being the sneaky girl that I am, I arranged to have this be the grooms cake at our wedding and totally surprised him! He loved it, I loved it, and our guests loved it. It looked awesome, tasted even better and is the sole reason for my post-wedding weight gain! Thanks Karol for the amazing groom’s cake!
